Bungie co-founder Alex Seropian launches Drifters on Roblox, targeting 18+ players

Look North World released Drifters, a free-to-play extraction shooter, on Roblox. The game entered early access on October 20, 2026. A five-person team built it in about five months after joining Roblox's incubator. Studio CEO Alex Seropian, Bungie co-founder, had focused exclusively on Fortnite UGC games since 2023. Roblox counts 123 million daily active users versus Fortnite's tens of millions.

Diversification spreads platform risk beyond Fortnite
Look North World keeps building Fortnite UGC titles alongside its new Roblox project.
Studio pitched Drifters to Roblox senior director Jim Greer in February 2026.
Look North World joined Roblox's incubator that same month.
The game launched in early access eight months later.

Roblox's non-competing model aids sustainable business building
Epic develops Fortnite directly, competing with UEFN creators for player attention.
Roblox doesn't release titles that compete with third-party developers, Seropian said.
"Roblox doesn't make games that compete with the developers, and they're entirely focused on building a platform that enables us to build businesses." - Alex Seropian, CEO, Look North World
Roblox bundles engine, discovery and delivery, cutting server and UA costs to near zero.

Five-month build reflects AI-assisted, incubator-backed tooling
A five-person team built Drifters to early access in about five months.
Contractors filled gaps in art, character and monster creation, Seropian said.
AI compressed reference-gathering and iteration tasks that once took days or weeks, Seropian said.
Look North World self-funds Drifters while receiving support from Roblox's incubator program.
What this means
For Publishers & Developers: Greenlight adult-skewing core-genre prototypes on Roblox as cheap tests before committing standalone budgets.
For Investors & VC: Discount valuations of single-platform UGC studios for concentration risk.
For Service Vendors: Pitch character and creature art packages to small Roblox incubator teams.
