Krafton's Ludo Robotics unveils Ludi 0.2 social-intelligence AI for robots, opens Palo Alto hub

Ludo Robotics presented Ludi 0.2 at UC Berkeley's robotics symposium on October 30. The update adds social intelligence, memory, gesture recognition and coordinated movement to August's Ludi 0.1. Krafton ties Ludi's design to PUBG Ally, its Nvidia-built AI teammate for PUBG: Battlegrounds. No test scores exist for Ludi 0.2; published benchmarks cover only the earlier Ludi 0.1.

Krafton ports PUBG's AI teammates into physical robots
Ludo built Ludi on Krafton's foundation models and Co-Playable Characters developed for PUBG: Battlegrounds.
Nvidia co-developed PUBG Ally, billed as the first voice-enabled coplayable character in a shooter.
"We reached a point where we started thinking about what would happen if we brought these AI characters out of virtual worlds and into the real world. That's essentially physical AI, and that's how we came to work on Ludi." - CH Kim, CEO, Krafton
Ludo Robotics opened a Palo Alto research headquarters, working alongside Krafton's Seoul AI team.

Benchmarks lag the pitch, roadmap stays open
Ludi 0.1 scored 20 of 28 scenarios with a fine-tuned Qwen3.5-9B model in AI2-THOR simulation.
GPT-5.6 with an optimized prompt reached 26 of 28 scenarios in the same test.
Those figures measure Ludi 0.1 only; Krafton published no scores for Ludi 0.2.
"Understanding and responding to people remains a major challenge." - Kangwook Lee, Chief AI Officer, Krafton; CTO, Ludo Robotics

Robotics funding race sets the backdrop
Humanoid robot maker Figure raised over $1B last year at a $39B valuation.
Robotics software startup Skild AI raised $1.4B in January to control varied robot hardware.
Krafton disclosed no funding figures, hardware partner or deployment timeline for Ludo Robotics.
Ludi 1.0, a foundation model merging perception, dialogue and action, carries no official date.

What to watch
Fast Company reported Krafton targets Ludi 1.0 for 2027; Krafton itself gave no official date.
What this means
For Investors & VC: Value Krafton on game revenue alone until Ludo publishes physical-robot trial results.
For Service Vendors: Pitch simulation-scenario and 3D environment-building services to Krafton's new US robotics team.
For Publishers & Developers: Raise retention packages for NPC-AI engineers, whom robotics-adjacent studios now actively recruit.
