Reid Hoffman joins Mosaic Ventures to route Silicon Valley capital to European AI startups
Summary
Reid Hoffman joins London seed and Series A firm Mosaic Ventures as advisory partner.
Mosaic writes $1M to $10M cheques, now investing in AI in Europe exclusively.
Hoffman supplies Silicon Valley talent, connections and capital, not new Mosaic fund capital.
"Europe is producing a growing number of exceptional AI founders, on paths to global scale"
01
A US network bolts onto a European AI fund
Hoffman announced the move on LinkedIn.
Mosaic was founded in 2014 by Simon Levene and Toby Coppel.
The firm launched with a $140M fund and closed a second at $150M in 2018.
It now calls itself AI-native, deploying $1M to $10M at seed and Series A across Europe.
02
The Hoffman relationship predates the title
Hoffman says he has invested in Mosaic since its start.
He has worked with Levene and Coppel for more than 20 years.
Mosaic's portfolio includes Manas AI, the cancer-drug firm Hoffman co-founded.
Both sides share ties to Entrepreneur First, the London talent investor.
03
Fund capacity and Hoffman's role remain unverified
Mosaic has not announced a new fund publicly since its 2018 $150M close.
Current deployable capital is therefore unclear.
Mosaic's website does not yet list Hoffman among its partners.
Disclosed portfolio names Parloa and Veriff show no gaming exposure to date.
What this means
For Investors & VC: A named US-to-Europe capital bridge opens co-investment access to Mosaic's AI deal flow.
For Publishers & Developers: European AI-gaming founders raising Series A fit Mosaic's cheque size but face an unproven fund vintage.
