Choice Provisions
Independent American video game developer and self-publisher headquartered in Santa Cruz, California. Founded in 2007 by Alex Neuse, Mike Roush and Chris Osborn (per en-wiki + official site: 'founded in 2007, making us about 417 in game industry years'); first title was the Nintendo WiiWare game Bit.Trip Beat (March 2009). Originally founded as Gaijin Games — DISAMBIGUATION: this is the US Santa Cruz indie studio, completely unrelated to Gaijin Entertainment (the Cyprus-based War Thunder / Enlisted publisher already in Atlas as a separate Global HQ). The 'Gaijin Games' (US) brand was rebranded to Choice Provisions in 2014 to avoid the trademark conflict and reflect the studio's evolution; a San Francisco office was closed in 2016 (per Polygon). Breakout hit: the BIT.TRIP series (seven Bit.Trip titles released 2009–2013, including BIT.TRIP RUNNER, Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, Runner3) — quirky rhythm/platforming hybrids that became defining WiiWare and Nintendo eShop indie titles. Current catalog per official site: BIT.TRIP RERUNNER (with the RUNNER-MAKER level-creation and sharing tool; Windows, PS5, Xbox Series X|S), Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story (Netflix Games), Tharsis (turn-based space strategy 'with dice and cannibalism'), Runner3. Hybrid dev + self-publishing of own and partner indie titles (26 'Developed by' + 15 'Published by' Moby credits). Independent — no parent corporation. Legal entity: Choice Provisions Inc. Moby record: 'Choice Provisions Inc.'.
