Interplay Entertainment
American video game publisher and developer founded in 1983 as Interplay Productions by Brian Fargo (Southern California); renamed Interplay Entertainment Corp. in 1998 (IPO year, Titus minority investment). Home of classic franchises including Wasteland, The Bard's Tale, Fallout, Descent, MDK and Earthworm Jim. Majority-owned by France's Titus Interactive in the early 2000s; after Titus's 2005 bankruptcy and Interplay's own Chapter 11 restructuring, it relaunched as an Irvine, CA-based IP holding and publishing company trading OTC (IPLY).
